Tasked with the responsibility
of selecting an established firm for an in-depth case study and analysis of how
they have utilized Information Systems to increase productivity and quality
over the past 3-5 years. We are then responsible to propose recommendations for
further improvements in the next 3-5 years. Somerset Medical Center was
selected by group consensus as the firm for our case study. We will employ
Porter Five Forces to determine their Business Strategy. We will further discuss their Competitive Strategy while also examine how they implement Information
Systems – What benefit do they gain? What is the industry trend? What are the
pros and con of their IS? How can they improve? The report will be finalized
with a group consensus on recommendations for improvement. At the conclusion of
this project we look forward to having a better understanding of the
principals, theory and work covered in class, through this real world practical
implementation of what we have learned.
